Yunroo is an illustrator👩🏻🎨 and visual artist🎨 from Batu Pahat, Malaysia🇲🇾.
Since graduating🚀️ from Middlesex University London in 2015, Yunroo has worked with major design and publishing🖨 agencies worldwide. Her most current project includes organising an illustration🖼 exhibition which involves 25 artists from 11 countries🌏, and serving as a commissioned artist for JS Blinds for their application for The Malaysia Book of Records📒.
In 2017, her first illustrated picture📚 book “Grandma and the Things That Stay the Same” was shortlisted🏅 as Best Children's Book for both Singapore Book Awards🏆 and Asian Festival of Children's Content (AFCC). It was also selected to represent🙋🏻♀️ Malaysia for Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava(BIB) in 2019🎊.
Yunroo believes that it is important to convey
key💌 messages through art. She focuses on simultaneously communicating📡 these messages through her works, yet effectively sharing a larger amount of information📟 hidden within the fun and energetic worlds👀 of her illustrations🍎.
Most of her works are inspired by her daily life🛁 and her identity as a Chinese Malaysian🥟.
